Where will we end up?

The applications are in and now we wait. Where we will go, no one knows for sure. Will we end up in sunny California? Or Florida? Maybe near the beach in North Carolina or in the mountains of Colorado? But maybe Utah will still be the best place for us. We won't know till April. Not sure if I can wait that long...

Where do you think we will go?

University of Utah- Salt Lake City, UT
University of Colorado- Boulder, CO
North Carolina State University- Raleigh, NC
University of California- Riverside, CA
Florida State University- Tallahassee, FL

Snow, Finally!

Today, we woke up to snow! It is about time, too. James was totally loving it. He sat by a window pretty much all morning saying, "Wow, snow. Ooo, snow." and doing the sign for it. He can be so funny sometimes. We decided to venture outside, after all James needed to try out his snow suit he got for Christmas, and spent the morning at the zoo. We were pretty much the only ones there and had a great time.

We could hear the tigers roaring up on the hill above them,
but they were starting to fall asleep when we got to them.

He was memorized by the water.

Trying to touch the tiger.

We made him walk with help through out this building.
He thought it was fun to go from cage to cage.

Just a classic zoo picture.
In other news, James has been seeing a physical therapist through DDI Vantage for almost 2 months now. It is a blessing to have her come to our house and work with him here and provide homework, as I call it, of exercises to have him do. It is amazing to see his progress. He will now walk a short distance with just holding onto one of my hands or walk a long way holding onto two. Especially nice he'll do the two hands holding onto each of our hands. Today I got him to take two shuffle steps towards me. I just about cried. Though I can tell he's not quite ready to walk, with a little more work it will happen sooner then later.

I recently came across this awesome recipe blog. I've only made her gourmet chicken and cheesy potatoes and both were a hit with my two picky boys. Her other stuff looks so delicious, I can't wait to make more.

Good Bye 2011, Hello 2012

As 2012 begins it is time to make some New Year resolutions, but I will get to those in a min. 2011 was a fairly good year. We were thrown a few curve balls, but I think we've come out better prepared for whatever this new year will bring us. We have some things to look forward to, like:

  • James turning 2 next month. (I need to get started on planning a shindig.)
  • Hopefully an acceptance to Graduate School
  • Possibly relocating to the school (Not really looking forward to moving, but a new place would be fun.)
  • James being another year older and that much more into holidays.
  • Our 6th anniversary (wow, six years)
  • Baby Thorr or Baby Agatha (Just kidding. Waiting at least another year or 2 before baby #2.)
  • and of course many many outdoor adventures
So back to the resolutions. My resolutions for the New Year are:
  • As always do better at reading my scriptures and saying prayers
  • Make and keep an exercising schedule
  • Do better at keeping our house clean and organized. (Will make a possible move easier.)
3's a good number to keep it at. If I get to many I end up just with a "To Do" list. lol

I can always do more in the half year if I actually have kept these ones. Hope you all have a Happy New Year.
