Silly James Part 2

James has been doing some funny things lately. Here are a few of them:

He started out eating this bowl of cheerios on the floor. Joe had laid his blanket on the futon.  Next thing we know James has climbed up on the futon, grabbed his bowl off the floor and continued chowing down.

Last weekend we rearranged our living room to make room for a computer desk. This shelve was sitting empty for a few days. James started crawling into it backwards, try to lay down and then climb back out.  The whole time jabbering in his own little language and laughing. I kept trying to get a picture of him on the self but could only get him climbing back off.

We had the screw driver out while we were rearranging the living room to take apart our breakfast nook and anything else we needed it for. James got a hold of it and starting trying to take out the screws on the remote for his mobile.

The next 2 pictures are from the weekend as well. We sat the computer on the bench. James kept going over and "use" the computer. He'd gripped the mouse correctly but just click and click on things that I didn't want him to click on.

He'd also turn the monitor on and off, which is a little annoying if you're trying to surf the web.

Silly James Part 1

James' lingo:

This is Dada and Kitty. You can often hear James say Hi, Dada over and over, even if he's sitting right next to him.
This is also Kitty and sometimes she is Shh, Kitty or Kitty, Shh:
This is Bankie. It goes anywhere and everywhere and James cries and cries when its in the wash.
This is Dodo (pronounced like dog but with out the "g") and it is also known as Dodo Kitty. James has a stuffed dodo that can always be found in bed with him and sometimes on the floor by the crib since he finds it funny to throw it out.
and last of all is Deedee (car) which he's really trying to say is vroom vroom. If you ask him where his car is he'll just look at you, but if you ask him where the vroom vroom is. He goes off looking for it. He has many deedees. This is his favorite and it goes just about as many places as bankie.
Everything else is Dat (that). Well, except for me, of course I'm Mama but it is very rare to hear him actually say it.

Stay tuned for Silly James Part 2

Epic Fail

I tried to make a hat for James. Tried is the key word here. After looking up several different patterns and not one of them were James' size. I finally came across some instructions on how to make your own pattern. I also thought it would be fun to make it reversible. One side with the letter J and the other side with a star. Well, I was so paranoid about making it too bid. It ended up too small and didn't quite turn out right. Some pieces didn't line up very well and the J and star were almost too big.  Next time, I'll just buy a tried and true pattern.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day
To A Great Husband And Father

who takes us on many adventures,
cooks dinner often,
loves to play with James and teach him new things,
willing to act crazy with me,
and so much more.

James is one lucky boy!

Picnics in the Park

For the past 3 Saturdays, we've been having dinner at Liberty Park. We pack up the car with yummy things to eat, like Bratwursts, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, a different item each week. Have a little BBQ and picnic, then take a walk around and explore different parts. Still searching for the Nano Geocache that is suppose to be hidden in the park. Maybe next week, maybe...

It's been a fun family time and fun to see James discover ducks, geese, swings, slides and of course water play. He absolutely loves the rock stream area.

There's a Nano Geocache hidden somewhere behind James,
but we haven't been able to find it.

Free

Don't you just love getting free stuff. I sure do.  So....

Remember this Christmas Sing-Along we went to. Well, at that Sing-Along we got vouchers for free tickets to a Bees game. We took advantage of that Bees game last month and invited my sister's family. At the game we received coupons for free burritos from Del Taco. Last Friday, we took a walk down the street (1 1/2 blocks) to Del Taco and had a nice lunch. As we were going home we started talking about all the Free things that have come from just attending the Christmas Sing-Along.

Now we have come to the end of our sting of free items. Looking forward to December for our next string of free. :)

A Blueberry Day

This morning I decided to try my hand at making blueberry muffins. Since, I had a nice bunch of blueberries in my fridge waiting to be consumed. Turns out Joe isn't a very big fan of blueberries and I wasn't aware. Now I have a whole bunch of muffins and not sure if I can eat them all myself. Next time I'll substitute raspberries for the blueberries. That way we'll all eat them.

I think they turned out quite well.
Blueberry Muffins
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 cup bluberries
  • Sugar to sprinkle tops
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl. Combine milk, egg & butter. Stir into dry ingredients. Fold in blueberries. Spoon batter into greased muffin tin. Sprinkle the tops with sugar. Bake 25 min.

Graduation!

My little sister graduated from high school, Friday. Sadly, we couldn't make it because James ended up sick. I still can't believe she is actually old enough to be graduating. Now she is officially in the Adult Club. This fall she will be attending UVU. Good luck, Kandace, in all your new adventures.
