Joe and I originally planned to go to South Dakota over the weekend, but our plan didn't work out, so we ended up just taking a mini vacation over the weekend.
On Sunday we took a drive to Bear Lake, both of us first timers. It's such a beautiful lake. We arrived at the perfect time. The clouds covered the sun so it wasn't too hot and it was even sprinkling a bit. We had a picnic lunch on the beach. Then after spending a little bit at the lake we headed off to Logan for some good old R&R at the Anniversary Inn. After we checked into our amazing room, we went to dinner at the Golden Corral. Lots of yummy food! The next day we ended up spending it in Logan since I no longer had to be back for my book club. It was fun just wondering around the little town and seeing our friends. Such a nice getaway before Joe starts school again next month.
On Saturday on our way home after spending the afternoon with my sister and her family we saw this.

Birthday Party
Earlier today I had a party for my birthday that is on this coming Wednesday. It was fun have some of my friends and family there. We all just sat around had some good food and visited, simple but still lots of fun. Sorry, I have no pictures for we forgot to take some during the party.
Of course like all birthday parties there was the cake and the singing of the birthday song at the end. When Joe brought out the Baby Looney Tone Cake I'd picked out everyone gathered around to start the singing, but wait there was some minor confusion as to why it said "Congratulations Alicia" instead of "Happy Birthday Alicia." My sister Crystal asked "Does this mean your having a baby?" and my answer was "Yes, I am." So that was our big announcement that we will be having a baby the beginning of February. After all the congrats and the laughing because Joe's brother's going to be an Uncle Sam, we finally got to the singing and the cake eating. Such a great ending to a fun party.
PS- Joe took me to get my hair cut this morning as a birthday present. Hopefully soon I'll remember to post some pictures of it.

Dear Facebook Quiz Addicts
I stole this from Lindsey's blog. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.
Dear Facebook Quiz Addicts
Now listen, I love you all. I’m glad we are connected.
There’s been a hole in my life ever since we lost touch after: (check one)
•college
•high school
•third grade
•that one time at band camp
•I got that restraining order against you
But still, I am enjoying this renewed connection. I like knowing what you’re up to, I love the pictures of your kids or cat. I enjoy trying to decide which of us has aged better. (Hi, Lisa. You win. I still like you.)
However, there remain some things I don’t want to know about you.
I don’t want to know which swear word you would be, how big of a b-tch you are, what sexual position you would be, or how many celebrities without makeup you can name. I am not at all worried about whether or not the Transformers would like you back.
I read Harry Potter, too, but I don’t care which Hogwarts House you would be assigned to, especially if you are over 40, because that is just sad. I don’t care if you are a Fork Biter or a Knife licker, and frankly, that sounds dirty. I don’t want to know what your lucky number is, especially if it announces it to me in a sparkly animated .gif that takes up two-thirds of my home page.
I don’t care what cookie, ice cream flavor, candy bar, or sandwich you would be. I do not want to lick your profile lollipop, and also? That is just gross.
I’m not totally anti-quiz. I will give you a pass of they are hilarious or ironic or historical like “How long would you last in a fight with God?” or “Which fiend of history are you?” You get a pass on style points for those.
I know, you get bored. You take these things late at night and you can’t sleep because you drank 12 Diet Cokes after noon, or when you are locked in the bathroom with the laptop hiding from your children who are home for the summer and just won’t. stop. asking. questions.
Or maybe that’s just me.
But before you hit that little button that asks “publish to your News Feed?” I want you to think long and hard. Does your third-grade crush, your husband’s cousin, your BFF from college and the rest of the free world REALLY NEED TO KNOW THIS? Step back from the computer and count to ten.
And it’s not a quiz, but if for even a millisecond, you think you should tell the world that you just sent a friend an “I Weep Alone” using gothic gifts? I am begging you, turn off your computer and go get some sunshine.

Glad I chose mornings
I just worked an afternoon shift. It's about the 2nd or 3rd time I have ever worked one in the year I've had my job. I just have to say I'm so very glad that I chose to work mornings instead of afternoons when I was first given the option when I got hired a year ago. It could be that I'm not use to it, but the mornings seem to be a lot less stressful. Also, I love that I get off at 2pm and can still go out in the evening if I want to.
Besides working today, I spent the morning and some of the afternoon babysitting my sisters 4 kids all under the age of 6. What a bunch of crazy little ones she has, but they sure are adorable. It got interesting for a few minutes when one of them got into the fridge and dump a whole picture of Koolaid on the floor. Man, it was hard trying to keep the little ones from playing in it while me and the older one cleaned it up.
After a day of babysitting and working it's no surprise that I'm feeling a bit exhausted right now. Well, hope you all had a just as interesting day as I did. :)

At the request of Angie
Angie commented on my last post that she wanted to see a picture of my cat sleeping in the sink. Well, I haven't caught her sleeping in there since I made my post, so I decided to look through my pictures to see if I had one of her already. Well, Angie, here one of Eowyn in the sink and of course Lightning is by her side.

Don't you love that you can see me in the mirror. Yes, I am wearing my pj's.

The Mystery
Last night I went into our bedroom to get ready for bed and what did I find? A very wet cat. This is how my conversation went with Joe.
Alicia: "Honey, why is Eowyn all wet."
Joe: "I don't know. She was like that when I got home. I figured you knew what had happened."
Alicia: "So you didn't do it?"
Joe: "No, I only went in the bedroom to put my shoes away."
As I proceded to look around the bedroom for a glass of water she may have split. None could be found. Joe then comes in and goes to our closet where the water heater is to make sure it isn't leaking.
Joe: "The carpets all wet by the closet, but I don't see where the water is coming from. Maybe she fell in the toilet."
Alicia: "How could she have when the lid is down?"
After some more searching Joe realizes our bathroom sink faucet is leaking. We then came to the conclusing that Eowyn must have fallen asleep in the sink, since that's one of her favorite places to nap.
Here is a picture of the wet Eowyn.
