James being cute and funny

I keep thinking I need to write down some of the cute and funny things James says and since this is basically the only Journal I keep I'm putting them on here.
  • Popopine (porcupine)
  • dump truck (usually said in a deep voice)
  • brat chiliiiiiii (bratwurst + chili, something his dad started getting him to say.)
  • that kitty sleeping or eating
  • Bob's Burgers (a TV show, kind of like the Simpsons)
  • Monkey diaper (Instead of just diaper cause his diapers have monkeys on them)
  • Where James go? (While closing his eyes. If he can't see us then we can't see him.)
  • Go right there (while pointing to a place he wants you to sit to play with him.)
  • daddy tickle, mommy tickle, kitty tickle, etc. (when he wants to be tickled or tickle someone. Will also use kiss and hug.)
  • Thomas train show (when he wants to watch "Thomas: The Train Engine") and Dump truck, digger show (when he wants to watch "The Adventures of Chuck and Friends)
Also, when he eats a sandwich he picks a different piece of the sandwich each time he takes a bite.

Since it has been warm and sunny a lot lately, we've been having a lot of fun playing outside. Whenever James wants to go outside he'll grab his chalk and the water bottle and carry them around saying "outside" till I agree to go outside.

Such a cute and silly boy.

March

Guess it is about time I write a blog post about March, since April is almost over. Though I can't help but think, "what did we do?"

Well, we did go one a little road trip for Tracy's spring break. We kidnapped my little sister, Kandace and headed off to Laramie, WY and Dinosaur National Monument. Such exotic places to go for spring break, right? Tracy needed to look at some specimens at the University of Wyoming Field House Museum and wanted to help collect some from the Dinosaur National Monument. James, Kandace and I just came along for the ride.
Some Pictures from our trip.
Watching cars on the highway from the hotel window.

Pool fun

Having lunch and a short pit stop at Steamboat Springs, CO.

At Dinosaur National Monument

Inside the new quarry building.

At the end of March however we took James to the Spring Festival put on by DDI Vantage (early intervention) where they did an Easter Egg hunt. Took James a little bit to get the hang but after that he was a pro. We also spent an evening at the City Creek Shopping Center. We are definitely in love with having another mall close by with different options than the Gateway. Though we are moving in just 5 months so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Our City Creek Photos:
Such a great place to just walk around.

Having our food court dinner.
All James wanted to do is walk around and look at the water.

We took a quick walk across the street to Temple Square.
Here is our lame attempt at a self family portrait.

City Creek at night.
James and I are the ones in the bottom left corner.
I don't think we did much else besides the normal everyday stuff.

Coming Fall 2012

The Thomson's will be living...

where there are mountains...

where the university looks like this...

where there are mountains and palm trees...

(Have you figured it out yet?)

where it feels like summer all year...

Look out Riverside, California here we come.

That's right we're moving to California this coming September. Tracy will be attending University of California. He'll be taking classes and working on his thesis (of course). As well as doing teaching assistance.  I will work a part time job. James will have to go to a daycare but at his age it will be just like going to preschool. (His pediatrician recommended putting him in preschool any way.) We're hoping to find a good house to rent, since rental rates are for a house can be cheaper then apartment. When I'm not working James and I will play outside all day in our yard. Oh, I love the sound of that, our yard. We don't really have a yard now. And when we're all free, we will take trips to the beach and Disneyland. :)

P.S. I'm feeling much, much better about moving then I did a few days ago. Still a little nervous and I'm sure all kinds of other emotions will come up, but I know it is the right thing for us.
