I think I've posted this video before. I have decided that it can become Tracy's theme song.
This month he's been off doing Paleontology and leaving James and I to fend for ourselves. He spent about a week (July 10-16) in Dinosaur National Monument prospecting. Then went to Glen Canyon this past weekend and is currently some where between there and here visiting sites and searching for more sites that contain swim tracks for his current research project. I'd try to explain his project, but I know I'd get it all wrong. So if you want you can head on over to his new blog that he has created about his project. As of now he just has the introduction, but feel free to check back often for more updates/info as he posts them.
As for James and I fending for ourselves has proved to be quite interesting. James ended up sick with some kind of stomach bug for a few days while he was gone the first time, then today he's showing signs of another stomach bug. Glad Tracy will be coming home tomorrow. The other challenge was having my work load increase from managing 30 apartments to 77 apartments for 2 weeks. I was covering for another manager so she could take a vacation. It sure has been quiet around here the past 2 days with her being back and her phone no longer being forward to mine. Now, I just need my other half back and all will be perfect again.
That is about all we've been doing the last few weeks and in a few short days it will be August. Hope you all had a great month and let's end July with a BANG! After all if your in Utah you can do fireworks till the 31st. :)
P.S. For those that are wondering this is the cookbook I got for my birthday.
I tried one of the recipes the other day and it was delicious and easy to make with a little boy under foot since no one was around to keep him out of the kitchen.

Happy Birthday to Me!
This past Friday was my birthday. It was a working day for me, so it wasn't too exciting of a day. Plus, it was just James and I. Joe is currently hanging out in the Glen Canyon area till Thursday, so he wasn't even around. Before he left he did spoil me with lunch from Jimmy John's, a couple delicious dinners which he cooked and he bought me a cook book called Simple 1-2-3 One Dish. He's the greatest and I'm missing him a lot.
The day of my birthday my wonderful friend, Merry, took me to Chilis for dinner. It was fun to catch up, meet her husband and just talk. The service was great even though they didn't sing. (Not that I'm complaining about that part.) Then Sunday my two bestest friends came over. They brought over yummy food from Rib City. I made a fruit pizza and we just hung out watching old Marching Band videos.
Over all I had a pretty good birthday with lots and lots of yummy food. The only thing missing was Joe. :( Now the fun is officially over.

Vacation! Well, sort of
I took this week off of work. Forward my calls and turned all my responsibilities to my friend and fellow co-worker. Can I say it was nice not having to be up by a certain time, answer phone calls all day and be on call 24/7? Ah, It was way way too nice. I don't know if I can go back.
Any way, the original plan was to spend the week at Glen Canyon for Joe's research. The Glen Canyon Paleontologist was going to take him around, but she rescheduled for later this month. (Well, it was never set in stone, since she had to arrange a time when they could get a boat.) So, we decided to just go camping some where after all (or rather I insisted).
Monday night we headed out, made a pit stop at my Mom's for a BBQ then went on our way to spend the night at the in-laws. One night turned into two nights at the in-laws. (Not really what I wanted.) Then Wednesday we headed out to Burreston Ponds for a picnic and some canoeing.
We separated ways and just the 3 of us went up to camp at Payson Lakes. I had never been to Payson Lakes before and I totally fell in love. Would love to go again soon and for longer then just a night.
Thursday morning we did some more canoeing, then headed back to the in-laws. That night they took us to see 17 Miracles. That is a very heart wrenching movie about the Willie Hand Cart Company. Then Friday we came home. Took the long way around the west side of Utah lake and stopped and did a few Geocaches. We are now in possession of Yoda VII a Travel Bug and Joe plans to take it to a Geocache in Glen Canyon.
Tomorrow, it will be back to work for me. :(

Joe and James playing in the water
James didn't like the canoe at first
By the end of the ride he was OK with it
James taking a break from playing in the dirt
Our wonderful campsite and me making breakfast
By the time we wen't canoeing again James was laughing and playing He even throw his cup in the water, which we had to turn around and retrieve. (Good thing it floats.)
