Picnics in the Park

For the past 3 Saturdays, we've been having dinner at Liberty Park. We pack up the car with yummy things to eat, like Bratwursts, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, a different item each week. Have a little BBQ and picnic, then take a walk around and explore different parts. Still searching for the Nano Geocache that is suppose to be hidden in the park. Maybe next week, maybe...

It's been a fun family time and fun to see James discover ducks, geese, swings, slides and of course water play. He absolutely loves the rock stream area.

There's a Nano Geocache hidden somewhere behind James,
but we haven't been able to find it.

Free

Don't you just love getting free stuff. I sure do.  So....

Remember this Christmas Sing-Along we went to. Well, at that Sing-Along we got vouchers for free tickets to a Bees game. We took advantage of that Bees game last month and invited my sister's family. At the game we received coupons for free burritos from Del Taco. Last Friday, we took a walk down the street (1 1/2 blocks) to Del Taco and had a nice lunch. As we were going home we started talking about all the Free things that have come from just attending the Christmas Sing-Along.

Now we have come to the end of our sting of free items. Looking forward to December for our next string of free. :)

A Blueberry Day

This morning I decided to try my hand at making blueberry muffins. Since, I had a nice bunch of blueberries in my fridge waiting to be consumed. Turns out Joe isn't a very big fan of blueberries and I wasn't aware. Now I have a whole bunch of muffins and not sure if I can eat them all myself. Next time I'll substitute raspberries for the blueberries. That way we'll all eat them.

I think they turned out quite well.
Blueberry Muffins

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 cup bluberries
  • Sugar to sprinkle tops
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl. Combine milk, egg & butter. Stir into dry ingredients. Fold in blueberries. Spoon batter into greased muffin tin. Sprinkle the tops with sugar. Bake 25 min.
