Time sure flies

I can't believe June is already half over. It seems like just yesterday it was the beginning of May. So far the past month has been pretty uneventful.

Joe spent the last 2 weeks of May doing field camp. Learning more geology stuff and how to make geological maps. He went on 2 one week trips with a 2 day break in between. They first went to south to Parawon and then to the upper left corner of the state the second week. He had a lot of fun hiking and camping and took a ton of pictures. Most of which are of just rocks and folds; a few of him made it into the mix.Unfortunately he has them on his computer and I can't get to them at this moment.

While Joe was gone James and I had an uneventful 2 weeks. I just worked a lot and that was about it. We did manage to get a flat tire and my sister came to the rescue and 3 hours later our car was sporting a new tire. I'm sure I was quite the spectacle sitting on the side of the street on 5 south and main with James, while my sister went to get the tire. I know what you're thinking, "Why didn't I have a spare?" Well, I do have a spare, but it was already being used from a flat Joe had gotten in April and we hadn't had the tire patched yet. Afterwards, I was saying husband's shouldn't be allowed to go out of town.

June so far has been pretty uneventful. Joe has been busy working on his reports from field camp and I have been working. James is starting to play with toys. I just bought him some linking rings and he absolutely loves them. He is also trying to roll over and gets himself on his side and can't figure out how to go the rest of the way. I'm sure in a few more weeks he'll be rolling over like a pro. It is so fun to see him growing and figuring out new things, but so sad it seems he is growing up way to fast.

Here are a few pics of James:

Such a cute face

Hanging out with Mommy
(Sorry, for the unattractiveness of mommy.
It was early in the morning and Joe decided he needed a picture of us together.)

He sure love to suck on his hands

Do I make a great photographer or what?

An overdue post (Warning: Kind of Long)

It is hard to keep you all to date on the going ons of our lives, when we no longer have internet, but I will do my best to fill you in.

The beginning of May brought the end of the semester. It was nice to have another semester over and done with. Joe worked really hard all semester long and was ready for summer. One of his professors made the comment that he could tell when James was born, because January Joe was alert and sitting up straight and then February hit and Joe started falling asleep in class. lol

Here is how the month of may has been:

On May 2nd, we blessed James. I'm so grateful to have little James in my life and hope that I can be a good mother too him. I'm also grateful for a husband who holds the priesthood and was able to give James a wonderful blessing.

After church, we had a luncheon with our families at my sister's house. The weather wasn't being very nice to me, so we had to have it indoors instead of in a park. I was so nice to be able to spend time with the family. It doesn't happen very often. Our friend Karl and his wife even came down from Logan and we enjoyed having them there too.

Pictures of James in his blessing outfit that my mom made:

May 3rd-6th was finals, so Joe studied and wrote final paper and I worked. Not much else went on just that I remember feeling extremely busy and stressed.

May 7th was Graduation day. We attended the whole graduation from start to finish. It was long, but fun to celebrate the almost end of Bachelor's degree. Though technically Joe won't have his till December, they put him in this years graduation just in case we are not around next year for the graduation. I'm so proud of all the hard work he has done the past couple of years and can't wait to see what the next few years will bring.

Here is a picture from the graduation:

May 8th, my little man turn 3 months old. He just keeps getting bigger and bigger. He loves to smile and suck on his hand/thumb/arm.

Back tracking a bit we took him to the zoo the last week of April and he was totally captivated by giraffes and monkeys.

Well, and then the worst of all Joe has been camping for class for most of May. He will be back on June 1st hopfully. Then it is offically summer playing time for us. Kind of, got to work and stuff.

There you have it. A short review of our month.

Complaining....

I feel like complaining today. Why? Because I am at work and today just isn't any old day. It is Joe's birthday and Mother's day. I should be home with my guys. Though I was scheduled to work today to begin with and a very nice co-worker traded shifts with me so I would only be working 5 hours instead of 8. Alas, it has not turned out that way. I got a call saying that 2 people have called in sick so I have to work the 8 hour shift 2-10 with out a 4-9 person. So forgive me, if you come across me today and I'm not as happy as I should be. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day. Maybe......

P.S. My poll is wrong. It should say University of Iowa instead of Iowa State University and University of Pennsylvania instead of Pennsylvania State University.
