A not so nice surprise

You would think that as adults people wouldn't do childish things, but of course there will always be the ones that will never ever grow up. It makes me wonder what goes through people's minds.

At my work we have this box that is set out in the lobby that anyone who comes in for the tours can enter the drawing for a free night stay. It is my responsibility to enter the entries through out each month into the computer and have the program select 2 winners at the end of the month. Usually I try to empty the box about once or twice a week or else it because quite the chore at the end of the month if I let it sit. So Today, I grab the box and bring it back to the desk. As I'm emptying it out I notice that there seemed to be something in it besides just paper. Well, it turns out someone had shoved a cookie in it, yes, partly eaten a cookie. How gross is that? It even left grease stains on some of the entry forms. If only I knew who had done it, then I could have disqualified them for the drawing. It was annoying and not something I want to come across at 8 in the morning.

Umm... I guess my blog has turned into stories about my work, since that's really all I do, so naturally all the exciting or interesting things happen there.

A Fabulous Friday

We both took Friday off, so we could go down to College of Eastern Utah in Price and get a transcript sent to the U of U for Joe. We had fun visiting the place where we met. There's a lot of good and bad memories there, but mostly good. :) It was nice to have that time to talk and just be together. We went to the bookstore and bought a pennet, so for now our collection is complete. The bookstore now has a lot of fun College of Eastern Utah keepsakes that they didn't have when we went there. It was tempting to buy more then just the pennet. While we were in Price we had lunch at Pizza Hut. The only Pizza Hut I know of here in Utah that is still a sit down restruant. Oh, what fun we use to have there at that Pizza Hut.

After got back home we went to the U of U baseball game against BYU. It was a blast. Too bad our team lost. We went to the game against BYU yesterday too, and they lost again. :( We still had tons of fun and I love going to baseball games.

Too bad I forgot to bring the camera, so we have no photos of our fun day in Price and at the game. But, here are a couple of pictures.

The Craziness of Some People (a long post)

Sometimes at work I come across some crazy people. Yesterday I had the unfortunate day of helping two of them, or maybe I was fortunate in helping them. I'll let you decide.

First crazy person:

Occasionally, I'll get the people who come to the front desk and talk to me and this was one of them. This couple they kept going in and out all morning long. Sometimes it would be just the guy or just the lady. Each time they'd walk by they would have something to say to me or a question. One of the times the lady she came down with a towel wrapped around her head. She then started talking to me about the weather and how upset she was that it was snowing. She also kept telling me how much fun her and her husband are having here and that they have felt so pampered that they are planning on coming back. Oh good another happy customer. I love it when they leave happy. After about 15 mins of random talk with me she finally started to go back up to her room, but right before she leaves she asks me what they should wear when they receive their massage at 9. Umm.... what am I suppose to say to that? I guess it is a major concern for some people, but I just kindly responded that the massage therapist will go over that with them. Satisfied she turned and left. Now I don't understand why people come down and talk to me for that long, wouldn't you rather be spending that time with your spouse/partner. After all isn't that the point of getting a hotel room.

Second Crazy Person:

This happened around hour 5 of my 8 hour shift. This person or rather lady came in to pay for her son's room for his wedding night. She wanted to know if she could see the room that he had chosen. I looked and saw that it was no longer occupied so I told her that she could and the room # and that it was just up the stairs. She then said, "Oh I don't need to see the actual room just a picture will be fine, but my son who came with me may want to see it." She then turned around and her son was no where to be found. She said that he loves old historical building so he's probably wondering around. I do end up getting our picture book for her to look through. She kept going on and on about how she would never pick that room to stay in. She'd pick some of other rooms before she'd pick that one and how she didn't understand why her son had picked it for his wedding night. I think she repeated this about 3 or 4 times during the time she was there. I did manage to get her credit card charged and then she repeated 2 or 3 times that she needed a receipt and that she wanted to make sure everything was paid for. After I give her her receipt and assured her that it was completely paid for. She then starts looking through the book, her son that came with her comes back and joins her in looking at all the pictures. I don't remember half the stuff she said, but I just remember that she was really funny. I do remember that she said to her son, "I bet they want us to get the ____ out of here." I told them that they were fine. She just laughed and said that she just says whatever is on her mind and that she use to be a teacher, so she's naturally very talkative. They finished looking through the book and left. I'd say that was the best 10ish minutes of my day. Hopefully, her and her husband stay sometime soon. I wouldn't mind seeing her again. She was way funny. I loved her craziness.

I'm sure you all now want to come and work with me, so you can meet all the fun and crazy people I meet.
