Summer Bucket List!

Thanks to my friend Shauna, I learned about this awesome thing called: The Summer Bucket List Challenge.

Our bucket list will be kind of a two part list. First part will start in a couple weeks and the second part will start in August. The first part I'll refer to as our 60 Days of Summer Fun.

60 Days of Summer Fun

A picture of our paper chain for our 60 Days of Summer fun. On each link it has an activity written on it that we'll on that day. It also doubles as a count down for when Tracy returns from his summer research trip. Hopefully it will help pass the time by while Tracy is gone.

The activities include (some we'll do more than once):
  • Swimming
  • Splash pad
  • Movie night on patio
  • Picnic in the park
  • Make ice cream
  • Water balloon fight
  • Make rice krispies treats
  • Smores
  • Make a pine cone bird feeder
  • Fireworks
  • Sidewalk chalk
  • Make playdough
  • Make cards
  • Paint with water colors
  • Rock collecting
  • Dance party
  • Skype with family
  • Plant seeds
  • Picnic at playground
  • Blanket fort
  • Game night
  • Story time at our local book store
  • Make cookies
  • Make bread
  • Pizza party
  • Bubbles
  • Smoothies
  • Movie night
Our Summer Bucket List

This is our Bucket list for the second part (might add more items to the list). We'll have about a month left once Tracy gets back, so there isn't a whole lot of time for a bunch of activities. It will just be fun to be able to spend some time together before he starts school again in September.

Hoping this helps us have a fun summer and maybe we'll make it a tradition.

What fun things do you have planned for the summer?

A Crappy Start

This week, well, this month has started out pretty crappy. Monday, I felt like this doing this:
The feeling actually continued into Tuesday. Monday night James threw a huge fit over being made to eat at least one bite of dinner and chucked a toy car at a window and it broke.

So Tuesday I had to have the landlord fix it and we had to pay for it. At least they did it the same day. However because of building codes they had to put in a safety glass which ended up being more than double to cost of a regular window. Kind of seemed a little unfair to be paying for a better window than the one that James broke. After receiving the $186 bill, I started wishing child labor laws didn't exist and James could get a job or maybe he could go out to begging for money.
Now he has a list of things to make up for it, in order to get the new window and his car back. (Even though the new window is in, we've kept the cardboard up, so James still sees it as broken.) Our summer budget just got tighter and any little hope of having enough to go to Utah in August is gone. Oh, well, James and I will just have to find some free fun things to do and Ramon isn't so bad.

June might get a little better, hopefully.

Graduation

My little sister, Clarissa graduated high school Thursday. Sad we missed it. I'm very proud of her for making this important step in her life. She has become a great woman with many great things ahead of her.

Congrats, Clarissa!
In the fall she will be attending collage at UVU where she will be an ambassador.
